- Genetics
- Management: Insufficient bedding material, broken cage floor, overcrowding, improper equipment.
- Nutrition: Mineral deficiency (Calcium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Manganese, Selenium etc), Vitamin deficiency (Vit. A, D, E, B2, Biotin etc), Ca: P: Vit. D imbalance
- Health Issues: Newcastle Disease, Mareks, Bacterial infections etc.

The weakness i noticed in my broilers can even be called lameness. it happens between age 2 to 3 weeks and had happens to 2 consecutive batches in my farm. the first one was fatal i lost almost 100 out of 500 i stock. but i eventually overcome it by the use of antibiotics and ultracal D. the second batch i have lost 2 so far. i stock Amo birds and use the Amo feeds.
