Celebrating a Milestone: Our GMD, Dr. Ayoola Oduntan Inaugurated as President of FIPAN

A new era for the feed industry began on September 24, 2024, as our Group Managing Director, Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, was inaugurated as the President of the Feed Industry Practitioners Association of Nigeria (FIPAN). The event, held at the Rembrandt Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, brought together industry leaders and stakeholders, reinforcing a commitment to innovation and sustainability in feed production.

In a keenly contested election, Dr. Oduntan ran on a robust platform aimed at tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing the feed industry today. With issues like raw material supply shortages, rising operational costs, and regulatory hurdles at the forefront, his vision is one of unity and collaboration. He envisions bringing together industry players and associations to develop innovative solutions that not only address these challenges but also promote sustainable practices for the future.

One of Dr. Oduntan’s key commitments is to work closely with the government to lower the costs of essential raw materials, such as maize and soybeans. By enhancing production efficiency, he aims to boost the demand for poultry products and stimulate business growth across the sector. His administration is also poised to explore opportunities beyond poultry feed, extending support to ruminants and swine — ensuring a more holistic approach to feed production.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Oduntan highlighted the vital need for collaboration among farmers, feed producers, financial institutions, and government agencies. He emphasized that creating an enabling environment is essential for the growth of the industry. Furthermore, he called for international partnerships to improve access to technology and best practices, which will ultimately enhance the quality of feed produced in Nigeria.

Dr. Oduntan also urged FIPAN members to unite in their mission to stabilize and reduce feed and food prices, aligning these efforts with government initiatives aimed at improving the purchasing power of our communities. He reminded the newly sworn-in executives of their responsibility to foster growth and uplift the entire industry.

The inauguration event was graced by notable members of FIPAN, including pioneering executives such as Chief Chinedu Ahamneze and Dr. Oyedele Oyediji, as well as the organization’s immediate past president, Mr. Raymond Isiadinso. Among the attendees were Dr. Agboola Belgore, Managing Director of Amo Byng Nig Ltd, and Mr. Seun Ayorinde, Executive Director of Diversay Solutions & DSL Pharma. The gathering also featured representatives from the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), alongside farmers, importers, and various stakeholders, all united in their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s feed industry. The event concluded with a grand buffet, bringing the event to a delightful close.

As we embark on this transformative journey under Dr. Oduntan’s leadership, let’s rally together to support his vision and work collaboratively towards a more prosperous future for the feed industry. Here is to exciting times ahead for FIPAN and all of us involved in this vital sector.
