In a bold step toward strengthening food security and expanding our agricultural footprint, Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Ltd. has acquired 1,800 acres of farm from UAC of Nigeria PLC in Maya, Ibarapa Local Government, Oyo State. Finalized on March 4, 2025, this milestone marks a new chapter in our journey toward sustainable farming, increased livestock production, and rural development.

This investment will drive large-scale broiler and beef production, establish processing plants, and develop modern infrastructure to enhance efficiency and productivity. It will also support seed multiplication, ruminant feed production, and farmer training programs, all aimed at improving food security, creating employment, and empowering local communities. At the official launch event, our Group Managing Director Dr. Ayoola Oduntan emphasized that the development would create a self-sustaining agricultural ecosystem designed to strengthen Nigeria’s livestock sector. Representing UAC of Nigeria PLC, Mr. Obinna Ede highlighted the strong role of the local community in agricultural success and expressed confidence in Amo Farm’s expansion in the area.

Attendees were given a tour of the vast farmland, providing them with an overview of its potential for seed multiplication, ruminant feed production, broiler and beef production, and farmer training. The tour offered insight into the company’s vision for the land and strategic plans for its utilization. To mark the beginning of this new chapter, a symbolic tree-planting exercise was led by Dr. Ayoola Oduntan. This act represented growth, sustainability, and the long-term success of the farm, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and agricultural transformation.

The event was attended by key industry players, financial partners, government officials, and traditional rulers, including the Baale of Maya, Baale Kareem Oyedotun, and the Jagun of Maya Land, Hon. Lateef Odediran. Both leaders welcomed our presence and pledged their support for the expansion while encouraging job creation and community engagement.

This acquisition reinforces our commitment to providing affordable, high-quality animal protein for Nigerians while driving economic growth and sustainable farming practices. It is a major step forward in our mission to transform agriculture and strengthen Nigeria’s food security. The journey continues, and together, we are building a stronger future for the industry.
