GMD, Dr. Ayoola Oduntan Proffers Strategic Solutions for Safeguarding Nigeria’s Food Security at the BusinessDay Future of Agriculture Conference

Our Group Managing Director, Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, was a speaker at the BusinessDay Future of Agriculture Conference, themed “Moving Nigeria From Scarcity to Food Security,” held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on March 27th, 2025.

In his presentation, ‘Transforming Nigeria’s Food System: Innovation, Sustainability & Growth at Amo Farm,’ Dr. Oduntan highlighted how our integrated approach across our companies, enhanced by the innovative Noiler, a dual-purpose chicken breed for egg and meat production, is strengthening Nigeria’s food and protein security:

  1. Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery: Supplying high-quality Day Old Chicks, including the Noiler bird, empowering rural communities with reliable protein.
  2. natnudO Foods: Providing accessible, high-quality protein nationwide through Ready-to-Cook and Ready-to-Eat Chicken, Beef, Eggs, and Shrimps.
  3. natnuPreneur Scheme: Creating knowledgeable, successful farmers through an out-grower model and leveraging a Hub and Spoke system equipped with solar-powered freezers for storage and distribution, enhancing accessibility and efficiency.
  4. Amo Byng Nig Ltd.: Delivering premium animal feed and concentrates essential for livestock growth.
  5. Diversay Solutions & DSL Pharma: Offering veterinary pharmaceuticals and consulting services to strengthen livestock health.
  6. Expansion: Acquisition of an 1800-acre farm in Maya, Oyo State, for poultry and beef production, seed multiplication, feed production, and farmer training.

While conferences like this are essential, Dr. Oduntan emphasized the need for actionable solutions to ensure Nigeria’s food security. He urged the government to establish a clear roadmap for agricultural policy, ensuring continuity and growth across administrations.

The conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators, including Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, represented by Minister Olajide Oladamolami McKelvin Agunloye, Technical Advisor – Administration and Value Chains Coordination to the Minister, as well as Ms. Abisola Olusanya, Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, who praised Dr. Oduntan for his contributions to ensuring a more food-secure Lagos and Nigeria.

At Amo Farm and our sister companies, we are committed to advancing Nigeria’s food and protein future through continuous innovation and sustainable practices throughout the agricultural value chain.
